Newly reborn out of the Ascetic House art collective, Destruction Unit emerges with “Two Strong Hits,” a 7” single that will stick in your head for weeks, more and more echoed until you no longer hear it — you LIVE it. It is organized, driving chaos, determined to break everything loose and free everybody from their imaginary prisons and phony leaders. In just under eight minutes, Destruction Unit’s sonic repetition, feedback experimentation and pummeling drums make for two songs that go off like a machine gun in the trenches of your psyche, all without a note feeling out of place. They will drive you crazy out of your head and into your body. Both tracks are loud, noisy and organic, no flashy solos or technical pandering. In fact, don’t expect to find music at all. Destruction Unit is a direct message from the American underground - and the message is FREEDOM! Turn everything over to the freaks and BE FREE!

This August the band will release a brand new full length record on Sacred Bones Records (details forthcoming) but first they have this 7” being released on Suicide Squeeze Records as part of their singles series. The record is super limited to a mere 750 copies (250 on glow in the dark vinyl, 500 on black) with a free download code and is also available digitally worldwide. The Funeral Home has been putting on shows featuring local and national touring bands for six years now with no intervention from police officers or city officials. This is a venue run for the people by the people. No one makes a profit here. In fact, those “running” The Funeral Home have put forth much time and capital out of pocket to keep this place going. On Tuesday, April 16^th 2013 The Funeral Home received two citations and was officially shut down as a music venue.

We are trying to keep this venue alive by obtaining all proper licences and permits. We need capital and support to make this happen.

This is a place where everyone and anyone can sign to show their support and add a bit about what The Funeral Home means to them. Please sign and share with as many people as you can!

Punk music needs a home. Don’t let bureaucracy kill it!
